Come join us on an educational hike in the far northern part of the Yaak valley along beautiful Blacktail Creek Friday, August 9th. The Blacktail trail is a road-to-trail restoration project that was implemented during the 2014 Headwaters Restoration Partnership Project field season. This project is a great example of shared stewardship across our public landscapes. Along the mellow 6 mile loop-trail we will be immersed in healthy old-growth forests and spectacular views of the surrounding landscape. The trail demonstrates natures reclamation process. This project adds resiliency to the fish habitat of the valley, restoring more streams for our native fish to thrive in. Please bring sufficient day hiking gear, lunch, plenty of water and work-gloves. We will go over our non-toxic weed abatement methods and review the history and steps of how this trail came to be. The trail is 3 miles one way and 6 miles round trip.
